Sunday May 27 BoxFest'18  The Fleece Boxford Music Festival  We are playing from 12.00 - 2.00 pm, there are lots of other bands on offer too, and food as well.  Come and make a day of it on Sunday, just be sure to get there in time to hear us!

We'll be in the garden of the Fleece Boxford https://www.facebook.com/FleeceBoxford/ as part of their annual BoxFest Music Festivall! The full festival is over the whole bank holiday weekend, with a wide range of music.

A terrific pub in the centre of Bury St Edmunds, with music every Friday they love their music and we're delighted to be playing here.  It's a free night of jazz, so come and make the most of the music, with food available too. If you need a room for the night, The Bushel is a hotel and of course there are lots of other places to stay in Bury.

Saturday May 19, 7.30-10.30pm fundraising event at Prettygate School, Colchester,

to raise money for a family to take their terminally ill daughter on holiday while she is still well enough to enjoy it. The programme includes four different bands, see the poster below for details and how to obtain tickets.

We are thrilled to be playing at The Fleece Boxford, the original venue for jazz in East Anglia. Some years ago the jazz moved out to other venues, with international musicians, so this gig takes local jazz back to its roots.  We'll be upstairs in the special Guild Room, which has brilliant acoustics and a warm, intimate atmosphere. The inventive and versatile sax player Frank Wetherley is joining us for this gig while John parties elsewhere.

November, Saturday 11th Amnesty International (Ipswich & District branch) Fundraising Concert for 2017

Ipswich Quaker Meeting House, 39 Fonnereau Road, Ipswich IP1 3JH

Doors open 7.30 pm.  Tickets £6, available on the door.

Come and join us and support Amnesty at the same time!  Should be a great night so hope to see you there.

October, Sunday 15th at Firstsite, Colchester. Celebrate Colchester Borough of Sanctuary! 1.30 - 5.30 pm

We are performing at Firstsite as part of an afternoon to celebrate Colchester Borough Council announcing its status as a Borough of Sanctuary. There will be music, dancing, food from Syria and elsewhere, and you'll have the chance to hear the stories of refugees who have made it to Colchester.  We'll be performing two sets in the course of the afternoon, with tunes such as "Lean on Me", "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to be Free", "Here Comes the Sun" and many more. It's bound to be an inspiring day - come and be a part of it!

This is a major highlight of our year - why not make the festival a day out and enjoy music from midday on into the night!  For this gig we'll be joined by the always versatile and inventive Frank Sebastian Weatherby on sax. We'll be performing our usual mix of material, including some original tunes as well, with rhythms inspired by Abduallah Ibrahim and Randy Newman.  Come on down and make our day!

"Blue Town Goes to Church" - We're pushing our boundaries for this evening of spiritual jazz/soul/reggae/pop/gospel/rap - songs by Coltrane/ Bob Marley/ Sting/ Aretha Franklin etc. Come and discover a different dimension to our music.

The Crown Woodbridge has a great jazz night once a month and we enjoyed our second outing here in February, it was the day of Storm Doris and staff at The Crown pulled out all the stops to help us recover from our journey from Colchester to Woodbridge!  We'll be playing a range of new and familiar tunes - it's a three-hour evening of jazz, and you can either have a drink at the bar or enjoy a meal from their wonderful menu - some of us have sampled it and the food is delicious!  For those travelling any distance at all, remember it's a hotel as well, so you could always start the weekend early...
